Korean mobile manufacturing giant LG managed to spark a lot of curiosity with some of its top-notch Optimus range of mobile phones at IFA, 2012. There was an array of high-end gadgets up its sleeve that were showcased at the event. One of those is a new addition to its trendy L series handset range, the Optimus L9.
The LG Optimus L9 is christened as a top-tier model of LG’s highly admired L series, previously consisting of the L3, L5 and L7. Featuring a stylish 9.1 mm angular metallic body casing, the L9 beats some top-of-the-line phones with its top-drawer specifications.
As opposed to the single-core processors of the earlier L series phones, the Optimus L9 sports a dual-core, 1GHz processor onboard with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). The processor is capably supported by 1 GB of RAM and a 4 GB of internal storage capacity with a choice to boost it up using a MicroSD card of up to 32 GB. It sports a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 960x540 pixels. There’s good news for those who were infuriated with the battery performance of the previous LG handsets as the new Optimus L9 sports a hefty 2150 mAh SIO along with a power pack for an uninterrupted full day use.
The Optimus L9 features a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera for video calling purposes and some of the other high-end features like DLNA, GPS, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, Bluetooth and an entire range of LG’s own apps. The tweaked UI of the L9 comes with apps like “Q Memo” for writing notes and reminders on the screen, a new ‘My Style keypad’ an advanced keyboard that can be customized to suit personal typing preferences and to make one-hand typing more natural, a ‘Q translator’ app for language translation which captures the text through the phone’s camera and translates it into one’s native language with the help of an advanced OCR technology.
Our knowledge is a little sparse at this moment regarding which type of chipset and what network technologies are used in this phone. Moreover, the LG Optimus 9 doesn’t have a fixed release date in the market yet nor has its price been declared till date.
